Domains/Hosting
If you are comfortable online and would like to set up an online store, you will need a name for your store and a domain. You will need a hosting account. Most of the “hosting accounts” will incorporate one or more domain names (free of charge for the first year), numerous email accounts, and relatively inexpensive hosting plans.
The best part is that most come with an easy to do website builder. I say that because if I can learn to build a website, anyone can. I mean that. Don’t be afraid to try. Most of the hosting plans will charge you no more than three months at a time, unless you choose to pay for the year. I have always started with the minimum payment in case I decided there was something I didn’t care for in the plan and wanted to cancel. Personally, I figured it was easier to try it for three months than to pay for a year and try to get a refund if I canceled.
If you are totally new to the whole idea of the website or webstore, take your time. We will maintain this resource page and add to it as we discover more and better hosting companies.
Comments are welcomed. If you try one of these companies, please let us know about your experience… good or bad… so we can keep everyone informed.
