You have probably decided what you want to sell or at least have an idea. We will continue to offer some suggestions for resources as we go along.
There are two other things you probably want to start thinking about. If you are going to work from home, you may want to set up an identity like a business name. For example, you may want to call your work from home project somthing like “Pam’s Pots and Pans” if you are going to seel kitchenware. Of course, you may want to be more original than that.
You don’t need to set up a business or get a business license to sell on ebay. But, it always sounds a little more professional is you have a business name. Once you get your feet wet with ebay, you may want to create an ebay store. It would be nice to have a name in place. So, put your thinking cap on again.
The other primary step you want to take is to set up a PayPal account. Over the years, PayPal has proved itself to be the ebay sellers payment gateway of choice. And, there are many other benefits to PayPal that will save you time and trouble down the road if you continue with online sales, ebay or on your own website.
When you set up your PayPal account, you will probably want to set up a PayPal Premier Business account. It costs nothing to set it up. You can use your new company name, and again it gives credence to your project. Again, down the road if you should choose to set up an online store you will already be set up with PayPal and can integrate their payment gateway right into your website. PayPal has about all the tools you will need to set up an independent site if you choose to take that route.
For now:
- Think of a business name, one that you can start to use to build your reputation as an ebay buyer and seller.
- Set up a PayPal Account. Below is a link for setting up a business account.
